Well the Blog is ready for off with most of the layout being similar to last year's. However, any suggestions are welcome.
This time there is no need to sign in or go through the 'Follow' procedure because it's been set up it so anyone can enter and read the posts and make comments. If you do wish to make a comment just click on the word 'Comments'; you will then be asked for your name and/or URL - just enter your name and leave the URL blank. Then click either 'Preview' or 'Post Comment'. Whichever you will be presented with the 'Word Verification' device to cut out automated Spam. The 'Word Verification' requirement is where you have to copy text (that is shown on the screen) into a box. The text is written in funny script to avoid spammer scanning devices. Once you have correctly entered the given text you will be able to edit it if you chose 'Preview' or it will be immediately published if you selected 'Post Comment'.

ReplyDeleteHi Peter and Christine
ReplyDeleteIts the code for the ampisand (& = and). This program does not seem to like it.
Sorry you haven't had any luck with Skype - we are often signed in but not at the computer which is in the other room so that's prob how we miss you.
Cheers
Brian
Don't forget to add all seven volumes of Alfred Wainwright's Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells to the essential reading list!
ReplyDeleteHiya
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, there was "amp" on the end of my & thats what threw us :-) we will keep an eye out for the skype and hope to catch you at some point as mine has now said to me that we have not shared details so I guess info has got lost somewhere along the line. Speak soon hopefully x
Lakeland is lovely! Would you be able to visit the colour pencil factory and send us a photo of you. Having used lakeland and derwent colour oencils all my life we had to check out whether the picture on the box was fair dinkum an it was! See you in 2012, Malle
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your visit. We are off to St Lucia next week and will be back 18th August. The girls are looking forward to showing you their houses. Jody's is in Wisbech Road and Danielle's is in Wimblington Road. The grandchildren are in Spain with their Dad, but they will be back before we go. Hope Mary is well insured! Hopefully the weather will improve by September as we are having a typical British summer. Love from Tina and Alan
ReplyDeleteHi Brian & Mary. Good to see you both at The Cherry Tree. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay at the Wivenhoe Hotel. Safe journey for Saturday and our best wishes to Alan & Tina, Linda & Roy. See you soon.....you never know!
ReplyDeleteHow are you both? I imagine you are settling into your new abode and enjoying the views and some walks. Gillian said you've had a fair bit of rain but then a lovely day with "sunshine". Well we've been having rain here too. The Jazz Festival was held on the weekend, and there's a fair few visitors around, mainly oldies. All oldies listening to the jazz (young Greg's comment). Only five for lunch Mary,at Is, then we celebrated Allana's fiftieth at the same place on the 28th. Mum's fine, Dr. McComb is going to be her doctor again and visit her at the nursing home, she's very happy about this.
ReplyDeleteSpoke to Val, Cynthia was having her procedure this week, she had to have an antibiotic injection first at Sutherland, then the procedure at Prince of Wales. Will is still down there. That's about it for now, look forward to reading about your activities, and about your meeting up with Gill and Neil. Love to you both, Olga.
